Welcome!
I think of fabric as paint. I often dye my own fabrics to get the colors I want- a lot like the old Masters' who mixed their own paints. I prefer to work with highly saturated, pure colors. The intensity of which, is rarely available in commercial fabrics. If it hurts to look at it, it's gotta be good! There are times when I do soften the pallet to accomodate the customers' needs. I have worked with all types of clients in a wide variety of settings.
Whether you are interested in fiber art for your personal collection, corporate art, art in public places or interior design, I will be happy to work with you. Perhaps you may be interested in purchasing an art quilt that is already created; or if you would like, you could send me a picture of the space where a quilt is to hang and I will talk to you about size, color, and theme. If you don't have any creative ideas to share with me, I am very comfortable creating with no directives at all.
When I am creating a piece, I rarely use pictures, patterns or draw. My process is very intuitive - I don't even know what the final outcome will be. I trust the intuitive flow and allow the piece to speak to me. It tells me what it needs, what it's about and when it is done. To me, that is the most exciting aspect of my work.
When it's done, I usually stand back and look at it and say "Wow, how'd I do that?" I never reproduce a piece. Once it's done, I have no desire to go back. I always leave room for the possibility of creating a new piece based on a similar piece- like a series. But no two will ever be alike. So when you buy a quilt from me, it is guaranteed to be an original.
